I couldn’t find the lyrics for this song, “Mercy Tree” by Lacey Sturm, so I gave it a shot. If you notice any corrections, please let me know!
On a hill called Calvary
Stands an endless mercy tree
Every broke and weary soul
Find your rest and be made whole
Stripes of blood that stain its frame
Shed to wash away our shame
From the scars pure love released
Salvation brought the Mercy Tree
In the sky, between two thieves
Hung the blameless Prince of Peace
Bruised and battered, scarred and scorned
Sacred Hands pierced by our thorns
It is a finished ?watch? his cry
The perfect Lamb was crucified
The sacrifice. Our victory.
Our Salvation chose the mercy tree
Hope went dark that violent day
The whole quaked at love’s display
Three days silence in the ground
This body born for Heaven’s crown
On that bright and glorious day
Heaven opened up the grave
He’s alive and risen indeed
Praise him for the mercy tree
Death has died. Love has won!
Hallelujah! Hallelujah!
Jesus Christ has overcome.
He has given from the dead.
Death has died. Love has won!
Hallelujah! Hallelujah!
Jesus Christ has overcome.
He has given from the dead.
One day soon We’ll see His face
And every tear, He’ll wipe a way
No more pain or suffering
Praise him for the mercy tree
Death has died. Love has won!
Hallelujah! Hallelujah!
Jesus Christ has overcome.
He has given from the dead.
Death has died. Love has won!
Hallelujah! Hallelujah!
Jesus Christ has overcome.
He has given from the dead.

Hi, you did a great job on the words. Im going to type what I heard and you can see if thats what you hear too. It is finished was his cry. Our Savior chose the mercy tree. The whole earth quaked at loves display. Three days silent in the ground. He has risen from the dead. The final words…On a hill called Calvary stands an endless mercy tree. This was played in our church today, I loved it and had to look up the words. Thanks for doing such a great job!!
It is a finished WAS His cry
The perfect Lamb was crucified
HIS sacrifice. Our victory.
Our SAVIOR chose the mercy tree
Jesus Christ has overcome.
He has RISEN from the dead.
Hey, this is great! I just noticed a few things.
I think it’s “broken, weary soul” in the first verse.
Also, He is risen from the dead.
And, “Sacred Head” pierced by our thorns.
Thanks for writing these out. This is a fantastic song!
Cheers,
Emilee
It is finished WAS His cry….
Our SAVIOR chose the mercy tree.
He has RISEN from the dead.
🙂
And every BROKEN, WEARY soul. Not broke and weary.
Thanks for posting the lyrics. Couple of suggested lyrics:
Bridge line4: It is a finished ?watch? his cry – “It is finished” was his cry
Chorus line 4: He is risen from the dead
🙂
The lyric is
“It is finished” Was His cry
Thanks for the lyrics!
Great job – thank you. Few corrections: He has risen – not given. Our Savior – not salvation chose the mercy tree. Was His cry – not watch. Again, thank you for the effort.
1. “Sacred head pierced by our thorns”, instead of “sacred hands pierced by our thorns”
2. “Our Savior chose the mercy tree” , instead of “Our salvation chose the mercy tree”
3. “He has risen from the dead”, instead of “He has given from the dead”
thanks for posting. I love this song and would love to find the accompaniment track.. I hope they make one…
By the way, I think the chorus is “He has risen from the dead” instead of “given” from the dead…
Pastor Robert
Sacred HEAD pierced by our thorns
It is finished (no..a) was has cry
Chorus: Our SAVIOUR chose the mercy tree
He has RISEN from the dead
End of song: Repeat the first two stanza
I truly appreciate you doing this. Please let me know when it is corrected (I would if I knew how). Thank you Cindy
I believe it is “He has risen from the dead” instead of given from the dead.

Thank you for posting the lyrics, I just have one correction. I think on the last line of the chorus it’s “He has risen from the dead” instead of “He has given from the dead”. 🙂 Merry almost Christmas!
Very well done. There are the only corrections I noticed.
It is a finished was his cry
The perfect Lamb was crucified
The sacrifice. Our victory.
Our Savior chose the mercy tree
Hope went dark that violent day
The whole earth quaked at love’s display
Three days silent in the ground
This body born for Heaven’s crown
Death has died. Love has won!
Hallelujah! Hallelujah!
Jesus Christ has overcome.
He has risen from the dead.
It is
Jesus Christ has overcome,
He has RISEN from the dead.
Ben-thanks for your hard work–here is my version-Brian
On a hill called Calvary, stands an endless mercy tree
Every broken weary soul, find your rest and be made whole

Correction: “It is finished, was His cry.”
Salvation by the mercy tree. Not brought
It is finished, was his cry. Not watch
He has risen from the dead. Not given from the dead
2ns paragraph 4th line
salvation BY the mercy tree
3rd paragraph 4th line
sacred HEAD pierced by our thorns
4th paragraph 1st line sounds to me like
it is finished WAS His cry
4th paragraph 4th line
our SAVIOR chose the mercy tree
5th paragraph 2nd line
the whole EARTH quaked at love’s display
6th paragraph 1st line
BUT, on that bright and glorious day
7th paragraph 4th line
He has RISEN from the dead
(same in 8th, 11th, & 12th Paragraphs)
Add a final paragraph
On a hill called Calvary
Stands an endless mercy tree
That’s all I could find 🙂
On a hill called Calvary

Shed to wash away our shame.

Bruised and battered, scarred and scorned,
Sacred Hands pierced by our thorns.
“It is finished.” was His cry,
The perfect Lamb was crucified.

It is finished wash His cry
No “our” before “Salvation chose the mercy tree”
“The whole EARTH quaked at Love’s display
Three days silenT in the ground”
And all the lines are “He has RISEN from the dead”, not ‘given’
It is finished was his cry 🙂
The lyrics “It is a finished ?watch? his cry” is actually “It is finished was his cry”. Just letting you know.
Corrections:
Line 12: Sacred *head* pierce by our thorns
Line 13: It is finished *was* his cry
Line 16: Our *Savior* chose the mercy tree
Line 18: The whole *earth* quaked at love’s display
Lines 28, 32, 40 and 44: He has *risen* from the dead.
And thank you for posting these lyrics! I love this song.
I appreciate your effort on ‘The Mercy Tree’ lyrics. You cracked the code of a few words I could not discern. Here is what I believe is the accurate lyric string. (not certain on the punctuation). If you haven’t seen the “My Cross” video that accompanies this clip I would really encourage you to do so. Thanks again! http://myhopewithbillygraham.org/programs/the-cross/
On a hill called Calvary,
Stands an endless mercy tree.
Every broken weary soul;
Find your rest and be made whole.
Stripes of blood that stain its frame;
Shed to wash away your shame.
From the scars pure love released;
Salvation by the Mercy Tree.
In the sky, between two thieves;
Hung the blameless Prince of Peace.
Bruised and battered, scarred and scorned.
Sacred Hands pierced by our thorns.
It is finished was his cry!
The perfect Lamb was crucified.
His sacrifice our victory.
Our Savior chose the mercy tree.
Hope went dark that violent day.
The whole earth quaked at love’s display.
Three days silent in the ground;

On a hill called Calvary,
stands an endless mercy tree.
Ben,
Where you have “He has given from the dead.” It’s “He has RISEN from the dead.” Where you have “Our Salvation chose the Mercy Tree” it should be ” Our SAVIOR chose the Mercy Tree.” Where you have ” The whole quaked at love’s display.” It should be ” The whole EARTH quaked at love’s display.”
Other than that, Cudos! You did a great job!
Thanks for posting this. I found two corrections: Should be Saviour instead of Salvation on the fourth paragraph and risen instead of given from the dead for paragraphs 7 & 8 & 10 & 11
I made the corrections to the words. 🙂

I left a message with the entire lyric string awhile back and no reply. What is the point of posting the lyrics here when you know they aren’t correct?
